What an awesome Teacher Appreciation Week!!! The Teachers and staff were showered with love and gifts all week. This year theme was “We’re not playing any GAMES when we say we appreciate you to Pieces!”
Monday – Let the Games Begin! Monopoly properties were hidden all over the building. When the teachers found them, they turned them in for a prize. We have some very competitive Teachers! Lol Tuesday – Candy Land Buffet- Thank you to all the parents that showered us with sweet treats! Wednesday – Twister – Because the teachers are always twisting around playing with the children, they each got a 10-minute massage. Thank you, Brooke Fenwick, for the massages! Thursday – Domi-Know what we would do without them, so a Taco Buffet was out for all the Teachers to have for lunch! Friday – Thanks a whole LOTTO for everything! Teachers got a lottery ticket and a 100 Grand bar. Cornerstone won the Lottery with all our teachers! We also got donuts for breakfast! Whoo-hoo We’d be completely PUZZLED if we didn’t have you! Thanks for all that you do! Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Jesus, Happy Birthday to you! Slumber Party for Jesus was a great time today. We had cupcakes, party games, piñata, and of course wore our pajamas. Cornerstone spent the month of December teaching the children why we have Christmas!
Wow!!! Does Cornerstone have some creative teachers! We had 2nd Annual Christmas door decorating contest and the teachers got competitive! Congratulations to the Cheerful Koala Toddler room (Jordan Otten) & Little Blessing (Emily Michaelis & Alyssa Solis) for tying for 1st place. And 2nd place winner goes to the Smartie Pants Pre-K Room (Autumn Otto). The 3rd place goes to Smartie Pants Pre-K room (TJ Keesling). The most creative door goes to Leapin Lizard Room (Carey Steele).
What a fun Friendsgiving we had today! The children were so excited for this event. As the children say, “They get to eat on the fancy plates!” A big thank you to everyone that helped with Friendsgiving!
What a fun day! Cornerstone had our Costume Parade and then went trick-or-treating. S/O to the following businesses and individuals that came to Cornerstone and passed out candy to the children.
Lyons Pharmacy, Lyons Hospital, Tory Tipp-State Farm, Bright House, Cow Creek Design, Knights Feedlot, Sellers Feedlot, Cal-Maine, Rex and Sharon Brown, First Bank, Lyons Federal Bank, Erin Stanbury, MTC, Pat Headley, Paige Sherridan, and Lyons Parents as Teachers. We would like to thank Cal-Maine for the portable Bio-Defense systems and Temp Aire for installing our Air Scrubbers. They are machines that helps us take extra safety measures by cleaning the air to make it safer for the children and teachers. Thank you for helping us to improve our facility. We are so lucky to have an amazing community support us! Thank you so much!

Thank you for your patience during this transition! Stage is set, caps and gowns are ready, gifts are made, and kids are excited!
Please join us tonight at 7 pm at First Baptist Church / Cornerstone Childcare & Preschool for the Pre-K graduation. Refreshment will be served following the graduation. Parents, Spring Break is quickly approaching. Thursday will be the last day of school for USD 405, but Cornerstone will still be open normal hours throughout the entire break! Because of this change in routine for our parents, students, and staff, we would like to get a head count for children that will be attending Cornerstone over the break. This will help us appropriately schedule our staff in order to best serve the needs of your children.
Please let us know your Spring Break plans as soon as possible -- call, email, or let a staff member know! We are so excited that our students get a full week of rejuvenation. We look forward to serving them, and you, during this time. Cornerstone Childcare Center has launched a new website in order to offer parents an easier, more convenient way to gain appropriate information and communicate with our staff. We hope you are able to easily navigate and locate the information you need. If you have any questions or concerns about the website, or any of its contents, please contact us.
